Art and design share many of the same building blocks.

From fundamentals like line, shape, and color to intangibles like communication, creative problem-solving, and risk-taking, the cross-pollination of art and design is undeniable. The skills learned in fine arts and design classes prepare Chicago students for all types of careers after graduation. Alongside the Chicago Public School’s Department of Arts Education, the Design Museum of Chicago and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) are proud to celebrate student achievements.

The All-City Visual Arts Exhibitions provide a unique opportunity to showcase student-made visual and media arts. Elementary and high school exhibitions will take place at the Design Museum of Chicago from May 3 – June 10, 2024. Join us in exploring the work of some of Chicago’s best young artists and designers
